So a common theme I have been seeing on many sites is people not knowing what is possible for weapons and items or how strong they should be at what rank. More importantly, I have noticed that most people are unaware of the abilities a weapon or item should have based on its rank. Thankfully, thanks in no small part to a friend of mine that sometimes goes by WItch Doctor, I was able to come up with this nifty little chart. While puppets are considered weapons they do not follow these rules and will have their own rules with the Puppetry System.

Rank	Properties	# of abilities
E	Basic types of equipment that generally consists of basic guns, knives, knuckle dusters, and grenades and armors.	N/A
D	This type of equipment is often times larger and more durable than E-ranks. They still, however, are marked by their generally low quality and lack of comparable strength to other weapons. While they can have abilities the abilities themselves are usually weak in comparison.	1
C	This type of equipment is generally both larger and of better quality than those below it in rank. Their concepts are mostly basic and they are usually made from normal materials such as steel or iron. Also includes complex weapons and trinkets and suits or armors that would otherwise require custom fitting to use.	2
B	It is at this rank that equipment begins to shine in terms of ability, as such equipment of this level have two distinct pathways they can follow in terms of abilities. The first of these is quite simple in concept but incredibly powerful in application. At this level a weapon is capable of being made to work with one's quirk; this, of course, means that the weapon is capable of being utilized in higher ranking techniques which can extensively augment the power of the said equipment. Equipment of this rank is allowed to be constructed of more advanced materials and by extension possess a wider range of capabilities, such as hidden compartments or otherwise useful tricks and gadgets.	3
A	Equipment at this rank begin to become truly advanced. They are able to be both durable while being made to uniquely work with one's quirk to a higher degree and could even supplement the quirk and advance it. As a result of their advanced level, they are able to possess high level abilities similar to that of various other techniques of equivalent rank. These pieces of equipment can be made of of advanced or rare materials.	4
S	Equipment of this rank begin to infringe upon the realm of legendary as all things at this rank are classed. As such, equipment at this rank can be nigh on indestructible while possessing fantastical abilities, sometimes multiples of abilities, but within a reasonable set of boundaries. These weapons can be pretty much anything imaginable; provided they are not completely over-powered. They can be made from complex, high grade materials, that can empower one's quirk to new heights while also seemingly morphing into something much greater. That being said the abilities and components of S-Rank equipment must be both reasonable and understandable.	5
